Kiwi House Swap is an online membership directory. When you join us you join a community of keen house swappers who are looking to travel without the hassle and cost of finding holiday accommodation. Simply list your own property and then view and get in touch with other members you would like to swap with.
Once you have agreed to swap with another member your holiday dreams can start to take shape. House swapping opens up low cost holidays to New Zealand and overseas. Once you start house swapping you will never look back!
This is how it works:
Sign up to Kiwi House Swap. Once you are a member you can add your own listing and view other members’ details and swap requests. You can contact other members you would like to swap with or review your own swap requests in your secure, private message dashboard.
Agree Swap Dates & Duration. This might be a simultaneous swap (where you both stay in each other’s properties at the same time), or a non-simultaneous swap (you may stay in their home or holiday home on one agreed date and they stay in your property at a different time).
The NZ School Holidays are usually popular swap times for families, but many of our members will swap several times a year – you could be enjoying a long weekend or plan a longer stay of several months.
Exchange Properties. While in the property you simply care for it and enjoy it as if it were your own. You may also be looking after a pet as part of the swap. It is important to agree on any property items that need taking care of while you are staying (such as indoor plants or a vege garden).
You may also agree to include a car swap too (this a great way to save $$ on car hire). Some members will even leave their car at the airport, ready for their swap partner to collect. Remember that all home and vehicle insurance obligations are your responsibility and should be checked out before the swap.
